Super Twins - The Drama and the Power

Starstruck graduates’ Jennylyn Mercado and Nadine Samonte are back with Dennis Trillo in the GMA Telebabad Scene with a new action-drama series called "Super Twins". This is the replacement of the underwater series Atlantika (Thank God they decided not to extend another season hehe).

As of writing, the two lead stars haven’t appeared yet but still they managed to get a higher rating compared to ABS-CBN’s Maria Flor De Luna (which was launched the same date and time).

I enjoyed watching the show due to the following Random Reasons:

*The story is not just plainly about fighting and saving the world. The first week showcased family problems and how two kids handle them. It shows the real love and sacrifices of parents as well as it also shows how MONEY and POWER can be sooo tempting.

* The Twins (named Sha-Sha and Tin-Tin) portrayed their roles well. You can easily symphatize with their characters and there’s no exxageration when they cry (some child stars are kinda irritating at times when they cry out loud like new born babies err..)

* Ian de Leon is a revelation in this soap. He played the role of the father twins who chose the love of his life (Marian Rivera) over his mother(Tetchi Agbayari) and the pamana. Finally he can prove to everyone that he’s not just the loveteam of Donna Cruz. He can act (having Christopher de Leon and Nora Aunor’s genes is enough to raise my point).

* Tanya Garcia used to shine at the GMA Telebabad Soaps as the ever-kawawa Cecilia (Sana ay ikaw na nga) and a girl longing for real love and affection (Twin Hearts). After a long hiatus in the teledrama scene, she’s finally back as a wicked stepmother named "Alloya". Honestly, I love seeing her as a kontrabida - i hate her na haha

* Marian Rivera is too young to play a mother role to the twins but she was able to pull it off. I can’t think of any other kapuso newbie who can act as good as she does. Kudos to you, Marian!

The show is now on it’s second week and the other characters are being introduced. I am not a big fan of any of the lead stars, but I love this show (but i love Bakekang more hehe) because of good casting, good story and good theme song.

So what am I trying to ponder? Hindi kailangan ng sobrang sikat na artista para panoorin ng tao ang isang palabas. Basta maganda ang storya at magaling ang mga gumaganap, enough na yun para magustuhan iyon ng mga manonood.

 P.S: I can’t wait for LUPIN!!
