Oh Yes! You Got Me on Saturday!

March 7, 2007

Realization : Adventures shared with your most trusted friends can be the most fulfilling no matter how simple the so-called “Challenge” is. It’s ok to be crazily in love inside the cinema room for two hours! :p

For the first time in four years, Maire and I finally met up in Manila! :)

Ok, maybe for you it’s not a big deal, but for me and some of my friends, convincing Maire to travel on her own from Espana to Cubao is a big challenge since this girl is contented reading her calculus books and calculating any other mathematical chuvanesses out there :)

Let me narrate the story to you:

Last Wednesday, I texted her that I might go to Manila and I’m also dying to watch “You Got Me” (most of my friends here in Dagupan are busy with their respective lives and I’m bored haha) and she said that she’s willing to travel just to watch that film with me (we used the watch the cheesiest movies back in high school) then she asked for her brother’s permission and they agreed that she should be home by 9pm and she must buy her jogging pants in any of the malls.

We arrived in Manila at 9:30AM (We even passed by Paolo Bediones’ Billboard where a guy went up there and is being rescued by some people) and took a short nap. Went to Gateway by 11:15AM (and I’m late haha). She was waiting for me in the Food Court and took pictures of herself out of boredom :p I really can’t believe that she made an effort to go there by herself :p

We bought tickets at the cinema for You Got Me and ate our lunch. I can’t help but reminisce the time we watched “Pakisabi na Lang Mahal Ko Siya” (Cogie Domingo and Judy Ann Santos) where we were laughing our hearts out. :p

One thing I realized upon watching this film is that we girls tend to suffer if the guy we really like is scared of asking us that special question. Grrrr..

Zanjoe Marudo plays Caloy, a dvd vendor in Quiapo who fell in love with Moe (Toni Gonzaga). I Love the Zanjoe-Toni Scenes :)

Believe it or not, I cried on the first part of the action-comedy movie (if you were able to watch it and you know bits of my family life you’d understand why I cried). I can relate to Toni’s Character in the movie. She’s strong, tough, adventurous, family-oriented but she has so much love to give.. it’s just that her Prince Charming hasn’t come yet to save her and fight for her.

I realized that Toni's Character in her movies and tv shows and even the "real toni" is very similar to me.

After watching the movie, we ate some ice cream then went straight to Glorietta (Thanks to MRT for the convenience hehe). All we did was walk, walk and walk. We saw a couple of celebrities like Borgy Manotoc, Ornussa Cadness, Mariel Rodriguez and Gian Magdangal, my new crush! :)

We went to Greenhills afterwards and ate at Jollibee. We went to the tiangge to buy her jogging pants and a white top I used for the Hidalgo Reunion. We passed by Platinum to say hello to Carlo then I went to Cubao with her and then she rode LRT on her way home.

Well what can I say? Congratulations for a job well done to the “Winnie Caldero of III-Economics” :p
