Thank GOD it’s FRIDAY!

May 4, 2007

My second week as an intern has officially ended today and I've found out why some office people says "Thank GOD it's FRIDAY!". It is the last day of a toxic week at the workplace. By 7pm onwards, you can have dinner anywhere and go home the next day (except to those married once lol).

Today, I "Thank God it's the first friday of May".

I was not aware that the company where I am an intern is conducting a special mass on the first Friday of the month. I went to the hall and joined the other employees as they devote one hour of their working time to the Lord. I am amazed on how these busy employees take a break and have time to hear the gospel of the Lord. I realized that I am lacking so much when it comes to my spiritual life.

The  priest talked about turning twenty onwards (Just what I really need!). "Kapag nasa 20 to 23 ka magulong-magulo pa ang isip mo. Hindi mo pa alam kung saan ka talaga masaya at normal lang yun" he said. "Pero kung nasa trenta ka na at hindi ka pa rin masaya, dapat matakot ka na niyan".

I can say that I am in the stage wherein there's a lot of questions in my head -specifically about my future. What will my future job be? Will I be successful? Will I be able to support my family wth my future income? Will I find my soulmate at the workplace? (haha just kidding - that's not a priority LOL). So many questions and the answered are yet to be answered.

"Huwag ninyong masyadong isipin ang future. Ang isipin ninyo kung ano ang magagawa ninyo NGAYON para mapaganda ang inyong BUKAS" he said again. He even narrated a story about an actress who remained humble despite of her popularity nowadays. The story is inspiring and I hope to be like her.

After the mass, the priest asked who are the May birthday celebrants. He, together with the other employees had a "pray over" for us. I cried silently with no specific reason. I dunno.. I just feel like crying and I feel so blessed despite of all the trials I'm facing right now.

I can't promise that I'll be able to attend the mass every week but I'll try. Maybe it's time for me to take time and feel the Lord in my everyday life. :)
