The Pinoy Blogosphere is looking forward to the results of Janette Toral's Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs in 2007. This activity aims to recognize the most-recognized newbies in the blogging world. After two and a half long months of waiting, the results will finally be revealed on August 1.
I only found out about the contest when a friend of mine asked for my support. I also made my own list of the ten blogs i'm voting for and i had a hard time choosing them. I wasn't expecting for someone to nominate me, but then it really felt good when I was browsing these blogger's entries with the reasons why they think i deserve it. (Though I think I have lesser chances- I wasn't able to campaign and i have a few hours left to ask my friend out LOL).
Here are some of the reasons given by my readers on why they chose my blog to be a part of their list:
Mica’s blogs may still be young yet I truly believe they are fast emerging as among the top influential blogs. Knowing of her advocacies, to my mind, Mica’s blogs deserve to be acknowledged as having great potentials to affect the sensibilities of her readers, particularly on the passions she so loves to write about. - Rhodora Palinar, Time and Tide
Ah, the pains and joys of being a teener! This blogger never fails to amuse me! She's so transparent; she's a good target for stalkers around! Hahaha! - Iris Dela Cruz, Shanbeyb
I really think that her active participation in iBlog events and her dreams of pioneering the "First Dagupan Blogging Summit" is influential enough. Although the scope of her influence concerns primarily of her beloved city and not yet the whole wide web. (well … who knows how far can her influence go outside Dagupan City.) - Caranijuan, Sinag.i.ph
Special Thanks also to Maki , Claire, BigBadKuya, Mary, FX, Jaypee, Alvin (second planet of planetalvin.i.ph) and to those who may not have nominated for me but is in a way reads my entries and sent in their letters/comments of appreciation. You don't have any idea how happy i am whenever i read your messages. Touching and inspiring the lives of many is a very fulfilling task. To be included in the Top 10 is already a bonus
Muli, nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong lahat. Mabuhay ang Blogistang Pinoy!
Deadline of Submitting your entries is on Saturday (July 28), 5PM . Habol pa for a chance to win $100 on the raffle draw!

I am writing another open letter for the world wide web to see. This is actually a personal letter for my cousin named Maria Ysabel Rodriguez Potenciano, my closest cousin in the Rodriguez clan who is about to leave the country to study and make her dreams come true. August 9 is fast approaching and her despedida party took place last Saturday.
Mahal kong Ysabel,
The main reason why the family went to Manila last Saturday was to attend my cousin's despedida party and to fix some personal stuff. We arrived at exactly 9:15AM - tired and sleepy.
I received a text message from some of my friends asking me if I can make it to Correctional Mandaluyong for a cause. I was having doubts at first since I don't really know where the place is but then i decided to go because i consider it as a 'blessing' since only a few individuals are lucky enough to take a glimpse at the life of those who are staying behind the bars.
I took a cab and went by myself. It was Hot yet you can hear the cheers of the people and you can see big smiles in their faces.
Then I saw Mickey Perz, Bodie Cruz and Gee-Ann Abrahan of Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 making the female inmates happy. The different fangroups were also present to give an all-out support and they also served as photographers and camerawomen to be able to keep some records for this event.
Mickey proved that he's not just a good dancer, but he's also a man with a big heart. He gamely danced with the inmates and gladly signed autographs for them.
Bodie Cruz, even if he's not really a professional dancer still made an effort to dance (and stand? LOL). The people inside were happy to see him because obviously, some of the inmates were big fans of Tirso Cruz III and Nora Aunor. Seeing the tall and handsome son of a very much loved actor during their time can throw all the sadness away. Soem even screamed the name "Tirso!!!" instead of Bodie :p He gladly signed for autographs and took pictures with them with matching "wacky" and "unwacky" poses.
The female of the day was Gee-Ann Abrahan. The people inside the Correctional supported her and even cried with her when she cries inside the Big Brother house. I later found out that she used to visit the Correctional as a school requirement (I'm not sure which subject though) and even if her duty inside is already over, she still makes time to visit the place that's why the people inside treated her as their friend, companion, adviser and daughter all rolled into one.
We spent two hours inside the Correctional and in that short span of time, I realized how lucky I am because I am staying in the "outside world" where I am free to do whatever I want to do. These celebrities, no matter how some "socialites" belittle them , can really give a priceless smile and happiness to these inmates.
To Mickey, Bodie and Gee-Ann: I am hoping that you'll continue making the Filipino audience happy not just by doing teleseryes, dancing on concert tv shows or answering rumours on The Buzz, but also through being a good example to the youth and making activities for a good cause. The triangle is on the right track. Kaya nyo yan! Itaas ang bandila ng Pinoy!
Here's a bonus video for everyone!
Today's the day the new officers were elected for the Computer Science and Information Technology Student Association (CSIT SA). No, I didn't run for a position, but I was a part of the COMELEC. I, together with Sir Carlo, Sir Mark, Sir Nimrad, Sir Jaypee, Iser and Edmon were the members of the COMELEC.
And woah, it's a tough job! Thank God for the free lunch and merienda or else mamamatay kami sa gutom!
The votation went smoothly. It was a pretty exciting one because the candidates for the third year representative (ironically their family names are Aquino and Ramos) had a tie. The 4th year representative winner was ahead for one vote only and some other shocking things happened but i won't tell it here
Congratulations to the New Set of Officers especially to the new MAYOR Karen Ruth Dela Vega and Vice-Mayor Jordana Llamas. Congrats to all!
Btw, I'm going to Manila later! See you Bodie Cruz!
Ooooppsss.. I didn't impeach Benjamin Abalos from his position and I am not aspiring for that slot either. I am just excited to tell you that tomorrow, the Computer Science and Information Technology Student Association (CSITSA) will be having their Election of Officers for the school year. There is a new process of votation compared to the previous years. We used to have our yearly elections every second week of July "On The Spot", but due to some problems being encountered in the past, the advisers decided to have the traditional way of voting which is through ballots.
I originally wanted to take the highest slot in the department, but since I am graduating earlier and I am handling a club and yes, even ECSSA, I'm not quite sure if i'd be able to handle the org well. I never had a position at CSIT-SA before but last year, they've helped ECSSA in the Foundation Week.
The candidates have no party lists and everyone filed their candidacy as independent. Everything is rushed and I was appointed to be the Chairman of the COMELEC. Thank God Sir Mark, Sir Rolly and especially the newly-appointed adviser,Sir Carlo (hmmm… lapitin ako ng Carlo hehe) were able to manage everything today.
Who will be the next Mayor? Vice Mayor? Secretary? Treasurer? Auditor? S&P Coordinator? Well whoever wins, I hope that you guys will practice our school's principle: TEAMWORK AND HARDWORK, WILL WORK! Goodluck to everyone! I hope you guys will enjoy the joys and pains of being a student leader! Keep Rockin!
