Hayden Kho - The Newest and Hottest Singing Doctor

I was a bit sleepy when we arrived here in Manila last December 20. Carlo and I don’t usually sleep during the 5 hour trip. When we finally saw our bed, we both slept without even changing our clothes.

It was already 4:30pm when  I woke up. We did attend a Christmas Party the other night that’s why I was a bit tired. I was surprised upon checking my phone. I received a total of 12 messages and 3 missed calls. One text message came from an unknown number. The message came from someone who is somewhat related to Doc Hayden Kho of Celebrity Duets and she’s asking for confirmation if I can make it on Zirkoh Timog that night for the Mini-Concert where the singing doctor is one of the performers.

Even if I haven’t gone to the Timog place by myself, (well, I did twice but that was a long time ago and I had my friends to accompany me way back!) I asked permission from my grannies if I can go to the mini-concert. They permitted me to go as long as I call them up just in case I can’t find a cab on my way back home.

I was supposed to go with my dear online Ate named Nessy, but due to geographical problems, she can’t really make it (she’s from Davao LOL). I invited a common friend instead and that’s MC.

We met up at Zirkoh Greenhills and we waited for one hour to be able to take a cab. Much to my dismay, some taxi drivers are really annoying! I think you know the reason and I don’t really have to elaborate further. We ended up riding a bus to edsa and riding another one to GMA. I thought Timog is just a walking distance from GMA, hindi pala haha :p

We took a cab from there. Thank God there was a kind-hearted taxi driver around. We arrived at Zirkoh Timog at 11pm and as usual, the stand-up comedians did the opening act. And oh, my long time favorite ex-sexbomb girl Sugar Mercado was there too!

MC and I waited outside for just a few minutes when someone approached us: It’s Hayden Kho! God, he’s really that tall and not to mention, he’s a great-looking doctor too! :)

I introduced myself to him and he asked us to sit infront. I was also able to meet Ate Sheryll, who texted me earlier. She’s really nice.

And they’re not really telling a lie when they told us that we’ll be sitting infront!

Later on, a lot of people starts to come in and the other table was accupied by Doc Hayden’s family, friends and of course, his lady love, Dra. Vicky Belo.

  I certain Ex-Viva Hot Babe member named Anna Scott rendered a song number (I can’t even recognize her. Is she really a part of the VHB? Oh well.) and she’s about to launch her solo debut album soon. Jun Lalin (The producer of the show), German Moreno (Kuya Germs walang tulugan!) and yes, Snooky Serna were there to host the show. What a combination eh? Honestly, I did appreciate German Moreno’s talk. Imagine, he started out dreaming of having a stable job – being a janitor yet he did accomplish something more than that! No doubt  he is still being loved by a lot of people. I was just a bit hit by his statement and I quote him: “Ang Entertainment ay ginawa para sa malulungkot na tao”. Is he referring to me? Not intentionally of course but I felt like blogging that moment LOL. Snooky Serna was there and she’s making a comeback. I am actually glad that she’s visible right now. I hope that she’d learn her lesson na. Jun Lalin revealed how Snooky was a pain-in-the-ass during the Captain Barbell days and she was just embarrassed with the revelation. Oh well just deal with it hehe :p

Krystal Maisog..este… Lovi Poe was there to render a few songs. This is the third time that I actually saw her in person (first one is in St. Francis Square with Charming haha and the last one was two months ago in Dagupan for an event). She’s Ok, she’s good, but something is lacking and I can’t identify what it is. Can somebody please tell me his/her observation on her? But I have nothing against her.

Of course, the reason why I went in the mini-concert in the first place is Doc Hayden! Waaaaah!!

He had an energetic opening number, but due to that super duper high energy, he didn’t really had a good start (Blame it on his constant running haha). Ok lang yun, bumawi naman siya later on with his succeeding songs and my, he can really sing!

 He performed his own version of an energetic 80’s song (I don’t know the title of the song haha sorry :p ) He sang his own version of You’re Beautiful, Unchained Melody, Another 80’s ballad that I don’t really know the title haha). There was a short break and now make way for..

Tessa Valdez-Prieto!

Yes, the grand winner of Celebrity Duets! As usual, she was in her daily uniform haha :p Jun Lalin even narrated to the audience the premiere of the movie Enchanted in Hollywood. Tessa went up there wearing her “daily uniform” and the people there actually thought that she was a part of the movie haha and that makes me proud of her LOL.

Anyway, she sang the Madonna hit “Like a Virgin” and she passed the wireless microphone to the audience! For her last song, she sang the Cyndi Lauper hit “True Colors” and as usual, she passed the mic again until Cacai Velasquez ended up finishing the whole song. That’s it! Haha but I find it really cute and she’s a certified entertainer.

 Now back to the singing Doctor :p He sang the song “The Way You Look Tonight” and serenaded to the ladies in the venue. There’s a little secret there but I don’t think its proper to reveal it here. He had a duet with his pretty friend named Princess. They did their rendition of the Miss Saigon Hit Song “Sun and Moon” and his finale? He performed the song “Careless Whisper” with the Imaginary Katrina Halili – the standee haha

All in all, it was a hella fun night. I was able to meet some cool people and Doc Hayden was really accommodating. I can actually describe him as “A little boy at heart trapped in a man’s body” hehe J He really loves singing. You can see the passion and the smile in his eyes when he got onstage.

If only you were there, you’d admire how entertaining he is. He is not boring. He can pick up easily with the punch lines and he really did his best to give a good show despite the lack of time.  (He just arrived two days before the event from the USA for a seminar on anti-aging).

As of writing, you can see him from time to time in Marimar as Carmina’s fiancée. I asked him if he’s planning to pursue with an acting career. He has a lot of offers but being a doctor is his top priority. Btw, he is a Thomasian. Wala lang:)

Doc Hayden, Thank you for giving me a good Christmas present!
