Celebrating Valentines Day With Gal Pals and Katrina Halili

Last year, I wrote an entry about my Jollibee Valentine date with Carlo. I’ve been celebrating the “day for the lovers” with Carlo since I stepped into college. I hated so much on how the media sensationalizes February 14 that even forces some ex-lovers to get back together and how it makes the heartbroken ones very miserable.

Where was I last February 14?

Since Carlo is now in England, I thought of an activity that can make this day special.

I went to GMA-7 that morning to watch the morning show SIS on the studio. The guests include Ella V and Boyfriend, Gian Magdangal and Sheree and doctors in love Dr. Hayden Kho Jr. and Dra. Vicky Belo.

I went straight home afterwards only to see Kenjo at the lobby. She complains that she can’t stay home because it reminds her of her ex-boyfriend. We strolled around Greenhills and went home at 6pm to take a shower and prepare for Katrina Halili’s Intimate Fantasies Fashion Show at Serve Bar, Araneta.

Lecel arrived at around 7pm with lots of presents from her unknown suitors. There is this guy who gives her chocolates everyday. Someone also gave her a rose. Someone gave her a teddy bear names Baby Tagpi and someone gave her a MP4 player! Who gave the last gadget? It’s still a mystery up to this day.

We dressed up for the fashion show. I wore black (thanks to Clear Shampoo’s Black Valentine campaign LOL). We actually thought that we were late for the event. We were way too early pa pala knowing the Filipino time

While waiting for the show to start, the three of us bonded first. It is the first time that Kenjo met Lecel. Kenjo is someone I knew and trusted in senior year high school and I consider myself as my bestfriend in college. Thank God they clicked agad!

The media people started to come in. Katrina Halili’s fans were there to support her. One by one, celebrities were starting to get in. We saw Sheena Halili (Plays the role of Monica, Angelika’s bestfriend in Marimar), Mark Herras, Joshua Zamora, Paolo Paraiso and Marco Alcaraz. I am happy to see Dr. Hayden Kho Jr. and Dra. Vicky Belo, who were able to make it in the show. We were able to say hi to the lovely couple too.

At 11pm, Sixteen brazillian models started to ramp in the runway. The models were tall, sexy and playful, but no one beats the goddess of FHM as she ramps with the lingeries onstage.

For those who are wondering on why Katrina Halili staged this fashion show? It is actually a preparation for the launch of her intimate lingerie line called Playmates, which will be available for sale by March in her official website, http://www.katrinahalili.com.ph . It includes seductive lingeries and swim wear.

I do really admire Katrina Halili because she knows that showbiz is not forever. So far, she already invested in two business: Barrakz Bar (located in Tomas Morato. She’s one of the 7 owners) and of course, Playmates. She’s about to open a condotel in her native hometown, Palawan.

After the show, Katrina Halili invited us in Barrakz bar. I am really impressed with the place and there’s a lot of celebrities around. We saw Alfred Vargas, JC De Vera, Alessandra de Rossi (Kenjo’s Idol wehehe), Ryan Yllana, Aifa of Sexbomb and a lot more.

I am really thankful because I have my single gal pals with me that night. I realized that you don’t really need to have an intimate lover to be able to enjoy Valentines Day. Being surrounded by the people who truly love you  is what matters most.
