Travelling From Manila to Dagupan and Back

March 30, 2008

The trip back home to Dagupan last Tuesday is somewhat different compared to our previous trips. This time it was only my grandfather and I who went back to the province. I had this sort of strange feeling because we used to be crowded inside the car. Lola sat beside lolo, Ate Virgie stayed on the back (right side), Carlo stays in the middle and my place is at my lolo’s back.

Lola didn’t go with us because she had to entertain some of her visitors and she wants to spend more time with my aunt who is about to go and work in Sweden. My grandfather didn’t want me to sit infront because he wants me to sleep at the back (I didn’t sleep the whole night).

Carlo used to bring his favorite CD whenever he go on long trips. This time, Lolo listens to an AM radio station. I had some conversations with him regarding the news and some random stuff and I know that he appreciates that.

Carlo is the Michelin Man! hahaha :)

When we reached the penthouse, I went straight to my room and he went to the office. We ate lunch together and I took a short nap after. I was online the whole time and he was watching tv. We ate dinner together and we went back to our own business and there. The house is sooooo quiet - No more slamming of doors, no more cry baby, no more loud tv, no more laughing kiddo, no more teddy more. No more kulit boy.

Staying in Dagupan kills me. It’s not that I don’t like my hometown, but every part of the house reminds me of Carlo. The silence is making me feel so lonely.

By the way, we don’t have a maid anymore. Lolo decided to fire the last one because of her many demands. I do pity to the girl and her family (she has 6 kids and an abusive husband) because they are really poor, but is that an excuse for you to take advantage of someone’s kindness? Lolo decided to fire her before he reaches his boiling point.

Because of this scenario, it was I who washed the dishes, cooked rice, boiled water, sweep the floor, changed the bed sheets and fixed some stuff. I am not really used with the house works and all that but then after accomplishing my tasks, I felt like a winner.. a survivor of some sorts LOL :p

In my entire four day stay in Dagupan, I never went out. Never went to the mall, to the school, to the canteen, the store. I was either online or sleeping. My social life in Dagupan is not active that’s why I end up not meeting much people there. That is the main reason why I don’t have a boyfriend up to this day LOL.

Lolo and I went back here in Manila last friday afternoon. My grandpa, despite his old age (72 turning 73 on September) is still a kaskasero wehehe :p He’s a fast driver. I want to take my driving lessons, but i still don’t have the time.

I’ll be attending my classes in Sinelab later and will proceed to my Tita Ellen’s despedida party in the evening. By Monday i’ll be meeting up with some friends and we’ll travel back to Dagupan (with Lola this time) and I’ll be back again by Sunday morning alone. Tiring, huh? I have to go back in Dagupan for three reasons: My thesis (yes i’m not yet done!!! haha), my bestfriend maire’s victory party (magna cum laude! weee) and my kuya melvin (he’s leaving on April 20).

Wohoo! I managed to write a long entry once again woohoo! :)
