Last month, I was lucky enough to be one of the bloggers to attend the Healthy Shabu-Shabu event at Shangri-la Plaza. We were taught on how to cook Shabu-Shabu the right way and we also learned more on its history (thanks to Genghis Khan!)
Unfortunately, I failed to write an entry about the event hehe but i can say that it is the most enjoyable food blog event i’ve been to.
My grandparents arrived from Dagupan last Friday, August 15, but I failed to greet them since I attended the Plurkfiesta at Greenbelt LOL. When they woke up the next morning, I was on my way out of the unit as I need to get in the office at 8am to work on some of the giveaways for the event that night.

I arrived and slept in my bed at 2am yet I managed to wake up at around 10AM. I asked them if they want to go to Alabang Town Center or Mall of Asia with me and enjoy a Healthy Shabu Shabu lunch. Much to my delight, I saw these two special loving people dress up excitedly and my lolo drove all the way from San Juan to MOA.

I remember my lolo complaining the first time we ever stepped into the SM Mall of Asia. He once told me that he’ll never go back there again, unless there is a special occassion.
I am happy that I convinced him to go
We had a hard time looking for the branch and we were oh-so-hungry, but hey, it was all worth it!

I lended the “cheat sheet” to them and they happily cooked their shabu-shabu.
While enjoying our own cooked meal, we did talk about a lot of stuff like the present situation in dagupan, Carlo’s developments, home theater seating that I’ve been wanyting to purchase, the workplace and a lot more.

In my own opinion, Lolo Peping and Lola Paquita is the sweetest couple ever. They will be celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary this coming October and oh, their love story is the greatest hehe I will narrate it soon.
I am still craving for a shabu-shabu meal grrrr… need to go back to Healthy Shabu-Shabu ASAP!
Last month, I attended the Belo Greenhills Open House and as a newbie to the company, I was amused on how the whole event was executed. I then imagined a scenario wherein some bloggers are present listening attentively to the talks, asking questions, voicing out their concerns and suggestions, trying out the difference services, enjoying good food and taking lotza pictures!
My imagination came into reality just last Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Belo Medical Group Tomas Morato Branch. We invited some bloggers (mostly beauty and event bloggers) for the “experiment“. It was the first event where i took part in the planning and execution so i was pretty nervous the whole time
I was happy because a lot of bloggers made it on time. The bloggers introduced themselves to Doc Hayden Kho before he proceeded with the Beauty Talk where he discussed about the services (surgical and non-surgical) of the BMG. He also announced the different Belo advocacies such as Belo Goes Green (It is the main reason why we are using scratch papers for printing and we use mugs instead of plastic cups) and the upcoming Life Coach Program. He also informed everyone about the Ike and Nene Foundation, which was named after Dra. Belo’s parents.
While Doc Hayden was sharing a story on how Dra. Vicki Belo arrived in the clinic, the ever sexy vavavoom doctor of all time joined the discussion!
A lot of bloggers were stunned with her pressence. She gamely aswered everybody’s questions that are related to the clinic, the image, personal, the foundation and she even took into consideration the suggestion of the bloggers about the upcoming online campaigns and the new service name.
Dra. Vicki left shortly because she needs to attend in a dinner meeting. Doc Hayden and the rest of the BMG Marketing Group took charge of entertaining the bloggers and presenting to them the services that they can avail for free that day!
If there is one important lesson that I’ve learned since I started working in the big, busy city of Makati and started living on my own, I’ve learned and appreciated the advantage of budgetting your money.
I have to admit that I really love to eat. I am willing to spend much on the food that I like. It is the also the top reason why I can’t buy the much more important stuff like clothes (which I only have a few), shoes (I don’t even have my own pair of rubbershoes!) and other kikay things.
My grandfather instructed me to list down my expenses - from transportation fare to lunch and all that. I never thought that budgeting is really a task hehe
I once went to the home and living section of the mall. I want to buy my won sofa, a big comfy bed, discount furniture, home appliances, living room stuff and much, much more. I am hoping to be able to get all of these in five years.
I am still starting with my career but I am optimistic about the future. I am hoping that the positivity will guide me in achieving my dreams.
