I received an email from a distant cousin of mine yesterday. He gladly told me that he and his wife finally invested on a food cart franchise business. Right now, he’s busy looking for a good cash drawer, where they can keep their money as the business grows.
My cousin is truly determined to be the best father in the world. Yep, his wife is also two months pregnant! I am hoping that he will use his family as an inspiration to do better in life. He was an irresponsible student way back, but people do change for the better as far as they find the right reason to do so. I am looking forward to this development in his family life. Is fatherhood for him? Weeee
Do you still remember the girlband TLC? They are the girls behind the monster hit songs such as Waterfall, No scrubs and Unpretty. The acronym stands for T-Boz, Lefteye and Chilli. I remember getting a copy of their Fanmail album when I was twelve years old. It was my birthday gift for myself after a surgery. Time to heal the soul with good songs!
Anyway, I heard their ballad song ‘I Miss You So Much’ on my way home. I can’t help but feel a bit emotional while listening to it. The weather also contributes to why i’ve been feeling blue lately. I also heard the version of Drake of the song ‘FanMail’ and remixed it with a new title ‘I Get Lonely’. As the lyrics says, ‘Just Like You, I Get Lonely Too…’
It seems like most of my friends are planning to move out from their humble abode. Three of them shared their sentiments about dealing with siblings who don’t truly understand the real condition of being a freelancer. It is not an easy thing to do especially when you need to concentrate on your work, yet the creative juices won’t flow. I know because I’ve been there… and i’m still a freelancer!
So I went out awhile ago with Bee and looked for adult bunk beds. She’s planning to rent out a condo unit with Cee and Dee somewhere along Edsa Bonifacio. We’re all adults now and I also thought of moving out a few months ago. Want to know the truth? I want to try out living in El Nido, Palawan just like what Flipnomad did.
It’s funny how some married couples fight over the simpliest things. Like for example, my friend Sally called me up yesterday and told me that she and Steve had a heated argument over a movie they’re supposed to watch at home. Steve wanted to watch a suspense-thriller film, while Sally wants to watch the JLC-Toni movie. They ended up fighting for an hour and eventually, Steve gave in. Just glad that the night ended with a goodnight kiss.
Just today, my aunt and her husband were looking for water softeners in a brochure then they eventually brought up a topic about mindless spending. They argued a bit, then fixed their problem before lunch. Whew!
Remember the days when you were still a student? Most likely, you’re competing with your classmates academically and you aim to be at the top of the class. You want to be the best among the rest. If you’re into sports, you’d practice and work harder in order to get the most-prized trophies and awards that will hopefully affirm that you’ve achieved something.
When I returned to my old room last week, I found some of my medals in a red shoe box - dusty and dirty. Now i start to wonder why did i even exert too much effort to study hard and get high grades? Was it for self-fulfillment or just for the sake of pleasing the people around me who had high expectations? Anyway, no regrets. With awards or not, i’m awesome haha
